Summary
Level Up Preschool is looking for a center aide. The center aide is responsible not only for creating a positive and educational classroom environment.The center aide will also be dedicated in the development and engagement of interactive and fun activities for children to help support their social, emotional, physical and academic growth.
Duties MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are essential duties associated with the position of the Center Aide:
I.Primary Function TASKS - Provide a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for all children, parents and visitors, including a regularly updated educational and informative Newsletter for parents
- Assist and supervise children during all activities, plus counsel children as needed using positive and appropriate discipline techniques
- Ensure that the appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of classroom is appropriately maintained
- Accurately complete all classroom paperwork, such as daily reports, accident reports and attendance records
- Follow all classroom regulations for the safety and educational success of the children
- Attend all staff meetings, trainings and school events as requested
- Provide support and direction to the lead teacher to ensure a productive and orderly classroom
- Provide breaks and lunches for staff members, as instructed by the Director
- Assist in other tasks around the center assigned by the Director
- Present a positive and professional image at all times and adhere to student uniform requirements
- Communicate with parents in a friendly and effective manner, including greeting them by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback
- Maintain open and effective communication with the Director
- Maintain certification requirements
- Maintain confidentiality regarding families, students and the school
WORK SCHEDULE: We have different work schedules from 3-7 hours per day 5 days per week with exact schedules determined by the director. From opening, mid day, and closing.
** We have several positions opening up for our Richland Center as well. Lead infant, toddler, 2/3 year old, and preschool aged teachers. Also, assistants, center aides, and substitutes.**
Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Work is primarily performed in a classroom environment. Centers are dynamic with a high level of activity. Work may also be performed at community sites for field trips.
- Incumbent must be able to lift 40 pounds
- Stand up to 95% of the day
- Assume postures in low level positions that best allow physical and visual contact with children
- Must be able to sustain a high level of energy
- Bend to perform various tasks numerous times throughout the day
- Stoop, sit on the floor
- Have the ability to move from a seated position to a standing position promptly to respond to emergency situations
- Perform all activities with children, i.e. jump, dance, walk, run, etc. for extended periods of time
- Must possess acceptable hearing and visual capabilities in order to monitor the environment and children's well-being. Both indoor and outdoor environment are typically found in a Pre-School classroom. Depending upon activities and season, may be required to be outdoors for regular, prolonged activities.

- Incumbent will need to be flexible and be able to respond quickly and appropriately to changing situations
- Incumbent will be faced with a variety of issues on a daily basis and will be engaged in multiple tasks and must respond quickly and appropriately to frequently changing needs of children
NON-PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1.Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and/or CDA desired but not required.
II.Experience:
1.1+ years of working in childcare setting preferred
III. Special Skills:
1.Able to maintain confidentiality
2.Must love working with children and able to work in sometime high stress situations with children.
3.Able to redirect children in a positive loving way
4.Able to cooperatively work with other school staff
IV. Licensure, Registration, Certification:
Have a merit account or create one before hiring process.
1.CPR and First Aid Certification (adult and infant)
2.Valid Washington State Food Handlers card
3.Verification of a negative TB
4.Proof of MMR vaccination
5.Blood borne Pathogens Training
6.DCYF trainings
7.30 hour STARS Training Childcare Basics
8.10 hours of STARS annual trainin
9.Background Check Fingerprinting (must be done right away)
