Job Description

Our client, a growing RIA with over $1B in the wealth management division, is searching for an experienced Portfolio Manager CFA to create and manage investment portfolios for their UHNW and HNW clients. The ideal portfolio manager's experience must include strengths with articulating portfolio updates, rebalancing and market movements to public and private sector senior level executives on an as-needed basis.
Location: Pasadena, CA
Portfolio Manager Responsibilities include:
  • Constructing successful investment portfolios informed by market conditions and economic trends.
  • Generating investment policy statements, outlining our clients' investment objectives.
  • Buying and selling securities in client accounts to maintain a specific investment strategy, or to reach an investment objective.
  • Determining acceptable risk levels for clients based on time frames, risk preferences, return expectations, and market conditions.
  • Maintaining existing client relationships, including informing clients of market conditions, updating them on investment research and economic trends.
  • Meeting with clients to discuss their portfolio performance and investment objectives.
  • Drafting market commentary, case studies, and market analysis.
  • Evaluating the performance of investment portfolios and ensuring compliance with standards provided by regulatory organizations, including conformance with investor disclosures, privacy laws, anti-money laundering requirements, and anti-fraud measures.
  • Staying up to date with relevant investment and trading news, and economic trends.
Experience and Technical Requirements:
  • 5 or more years of professional portfolio management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or finance.
  • Professional certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or similar qualification.
  • Experience with public sector including governmental, hospitals and institutional clients is strongly preferred
  • FINRA Series 65, NASAA Series 66 and/or FINRA Series 7 licenses.
  • Detailed understanding of capital markets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Proficient in various financial management software, such as FactSet, Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg Terminal, and BlackRock Aladdin.
  • Experience with Schwab Advisor Services, Orion, Redtail and Riskalyze a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

  • The salary range is $140,000.00 - $190,000.00 depending on experience.
