Police Officer
Chiefland Police Department
Starting Salary: $46,200

The Chiefland Police Department is seeking dedicated, community-oriented individuals to join our team as Police Officers. Our officers play a vital role in ensuring public safety, fostering trust, and promoting a secure environment for the residents of Chiefland.

Responsibilities:

• Enforce local, state, and federal laws within the city of Chiefland.


• Conduct routine patrols to deter and detect criminal activity.


• Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.


• Investigate crimes, accidents, and incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.


• Make arrests and issue citations when necessary, following department procedures.


• Prepare detailed and accurate reports for court and departmental use.


• Build positive relationships with community members through outreach, education, and engagement.

  • Participate in training to stay current on law enforcement best practices, policies, and procedures.
  
  
  • Work collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies and first responders.
  
  

  Requirements:

  
  

• Must be a U.S. citizen.


• At least 21 years of age.


• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice is a plus.


• Certification by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) or currentlyenrolled in a Florida-approved law enforcement academy.


• Valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Salary/Compensation: $46,200 per year
