Job Description

Augusta Health is seeking a FT patient care technician on our medical innovation unit. This is a night shift role (7pm-7am).

The Medical Innovation unit at Augusta Health is a 32-bed medical-surgical unit. Nurses on this unit care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems. The patient population on Medical includes renal, pulmonary, infectious disease, GI issues, hospice, and more. As a RN on our unit, you will be accountable for the coordination of direct patient care, education, and serve as the leader of the patient care team. You will obtain a strong knowledge base and feel competent to provide care in diverse and flexible settings

Under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse, performs various duties assisting unit staff nurses and clerical specialists to ensure efficient unit operations and safe patient care following established procedures.
Includes bathing, dressing and feeding of patients, performing vital signs, phlebotomy and Ekg's.

A sign-on bonus of $4,000.00 is available for qualified applicants.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Educational requirements per hospital certifications (Example: Stroke, Orthopedic/Spine).
• Completion of 1st semester of clinical rotations in an RN program preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant in Virginia preferred.
• Previous acute care hospital work experience preferred.
