Salary: $14 - $16 per hour

Quinn's Harwood House BOH (back of house - kitchen) has an opening for a Pastry Chef. The Pastry Chef will work with our Pastry Chef Supervisor to create all the delicious desserts, baked goods, and other prepped items for the Harwood House. Position could be FT or PT.

Tasks/Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Preparing items per the direction of the Pastry Chef Supervisor.
• Work efficiently and accurately so all items are prepared in a timely manner. 
• Monitor portions and quality of food.
• Prep work as needed including slicing, dicing, portioning, preparing sauces, etc.
• Assisting other team members when needed.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment i.e. shelves, equipment, coolers, food storage containers and areas, work spaces, etc. We must always comply with sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills. 
• Ability to work in a very fast paced environment - timing is key in our line of work. 
• Willingness and ability to learn all menu items, their ingredients, and the appropriate preparation technique.
• Strong kitchen knowledge and ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong organization and active listening skills.
• Exceptional time management skills.
• Passion and desire to assist in the preparation and delivery of food!

Experience:

• Previous experience in a bakery or commercial kitchen preferred. 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work on you feet most of the shift.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, crawl, access awkward spaces
• Ability to walk up and down stairs. 
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
