Clark College is currently seeking to fill part-time Art History Professor positions. Candidates will need demonstrated ability to teach in online and in-person formats for Western Art History. This position has the opportunity to teach a hybrid schedule with a combination of remote days and on campus days weekly. This position may also teach Women in Art, Graphic Design History, or 20th Century Art. Candidates who are passionate about approaching Art History from a global perspective are strongly encouraged to apply.

This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime, evening, or weekend hours. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

Position Responsibilities


GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Instruct classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
  • Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in department and college committees.

  • Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
  • Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching online and in-person.
  • Ability to utilize presentation software, Canvas or other learning management systems; commitment to take eLearning classes for pedagogy of teaching online or hybrid modalities.
  • Ability to teach any of the following: Art History, Women in Art, Graphic Design History, or 20th Century Art.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion, including experience working with a diverse student body.
  • Demonstrated competencies in curriculum and course development, pedagogy, student outcomes assessment, and the development of student critical thinking skills.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to use teaching methods that engage students and encourage them to be motivated self-learners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Master's degree in art history, visual culture studies, or a closely related field.
  • Teaching experience in a college setting.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
