(GreenPower) is a leading manufacturer and distributor of purpose-built, all-electric, zero emission medium and heavy-duty vehicles serving the cargo and delivery market, shuttle and transit space and school bus sector. Brief Description:A Painter performs duties of direct application of finish paint coating on transit busses per written and verbal work instructions. Responsibilities:Prep work required to apply body fillers, Bondo and Fiberglass.Prepare paint materials for the job; measure and mix all types of paint.Spray paint using cup and pot type spray guns.Start up and shut down paint booth equipment properly.Clean and organize all paint shop equipment regularly.Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.Operate and preventatively maintain shop vehicles and equipment.Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.Keep Paint Shop Lead advised of work status, workload, problems. Requirements High School diploma or GED.One year of related experience.Must be able to pass and maintain a respirator fit test.Good organizational and time management skills.Skilled in reading comprehension, writing and basic math knowledge. Ability to understand written and verbal work instructions. Ability to understand and read blueprints.Skilled in operation of basic hand tools, shop tools and equipment.Competency in the use of measuring devices to stay within required tolerances.Ability to learn processes quickly, adapt to process changes and implement those changes.Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures and machinery. Ability to keep a clean and safe working environment.Ability to operate and maintain company shop equipment. Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.Manufacturing and/or automotive experience preferred.Willingness to travel if required.Must be able to pass a preemployment drug screening. Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standing.Required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and crawl.Regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs.; frequently lift and move up to 30 lbs.; occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.Ability to see and adjust visual focus both up-close and at a distance; position requires peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to see and distinguish colors. Working Environment:Exposure to high-levels of noise.Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots and hardhats. Compensation and Benefits:Compensation for this position will be in the range of $18 to $20 per hour. Qualified candidates will generally work a 40-hour work week.
