Job Title: PACS Administrator I
Location : Palm Springs, CA (On Site Required)
Job Type : Direct Hire
The PACS Administrator I is responsible for RIS/PACS and CPACS maintenance and support of Pictorial Archiving Communication Systems, assigned applications, integration of modalities, deploying PACS workstations and workflows that support Radiology and Cardiology
Education
- Required: Associates Degree in IT or healthcare related field or an additional two (2) years of applicable experience in lieu of Associate’s Degree
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or healthcare related field
Licensure/Certification
- Required: Valid CA Driver License; Obtain a relevant IT or Healthcare Certification (DICOM, Radiant, Cupid or other IT related certification) within one (1) year of hire
- Preferred: Relevant technology or Clinical Certification (AART, RN, RT)
Experience
- Required: Three (3) years of combined experience in healthcare, technology or working at an imaging vendor or five (5) years relevant combined experience in healthcare and technology in lieu of an Associate’s Degree
Preferred: Desktop or application support experience and relevant clinical experience
1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
2. Supports implementation, monitoring, and maintains day-to-day activities associated with the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) and Cardiology systems.
3. Assists radiologists, technologist and staff with hanging protocols, exam filters, dictation system and reporting modules.
4. Configures connectivity between imaging modalities and PACS. Supports modality imaging software and assist users; able to troubleshoot and resolve issues with minimal guidance.
5. Installs software and trains physicians and staff on applications and workflows.
6. Troubleshoots interface errors with Radiology and Cardiology systems.
7. Proactively seeks to understand the “how and why” processes work.
8. Troubleshoots incident tickets and works closely with customers and the RIS/PACS team to resolve issues.
9. Creates and maintains radiology, cardiology and imaging reports.
10. Learns process improvement processes and applies methods and tools toward work tasks and activities when appropriate.
11. Monitors performance reports, work queues, error logs to ensure systems are performing optimally. Suggest alternatives for performance improvement.
12. Ensures effective communication with physicians, other clinical personnel between assigned departments, vendors and IS staff members.
13. Assists the departments in utilizing the software to support and maximize the operational benefits to achieve best practices.
14. Supports RIS/PACS/CPACS projects and tasks necessary to complete projects on time and on budget.
15. Supports Tumor Board conferences and optimizes systems to support privacy and security.
16. Assures that all necessary documentation (i.e. procedures, processes) are properly completed.
17. Completes RIS/PACS/CPACS competencies.
18. Participates in the RIS/PACS OnCall rotation.
19. Performs other duties as assigned.
