Job Summary

This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading all marketing programs and activities relating to Reconomy’s Recycle division in North America. With responsibility for the full marketing mix across Recycle brands, the Marketing Specialist will focus on increasing brand awareness and supporting the sales strategy in terms of lead generation and nurturing.

Reporting day-to-day to the EVP Circular Solutions, North America and with a functional line to the group Marketing Director, the Marketing Specialist has ownership to ensure all activity is delivered on time, within agreed budgets and with full adherence to brand and group corporate guidelines.

This role is fundamental in driving business growth through the promotion of the waste management offer and the links to Reconomy’s overall circular economy proposition - developing our brands in accordance with the brand strategy and positioning them appropriately for our target markets. Collaboration with key people within the North America recycle division management team, central function teams and external stakeholders will be critical to success and ensuring activity supports our company purpose, vision, mission, and values.Strategy and plans are implemented using in-house group resources and external agencies. The Marketing Specialist will help to develop plans, build marketing capability and resources in line with the divisional growth plans.

Responsibilities: 

  • Brand management – own and maintain all brand messaging for Recycle division North America, ensuring correct tone of voice, consistent messaging and alignment with overall group brand strategy. Support the analysis and determination of brand strategy for newly acquired businesses in the division.
  • Working with the Group Marketing Director and EVP Circular Solutions NA, plan, implement and measure the Recycle division North America marketing strategy
  • Adapt and build upon marketing collateral created for Recycle UK division to create a full set of marketing collateral for North America.
  • Creating and reporting on a set of clear marketing effectiveness / performance metrics for the division
  • Preparation and monitoring of marketing budgets across the division with a view to continued improvement that delivers cost-effectiveness and generates ROI
  • Working with the sales teams to develop, experiment and implement new cross and up-selling programs using a variety of channels
  • Supporting internal communications activity for the Recycle division, ensuring alignment where appropriate across the respective brands
  • Continuous development of brand websites, digital marketing and social media strategies raising the bar to achieve a strong digital footprint and brand awareness
  • Manage the creation of all divisional marketing collateral and content – creating copy and using in-house group design resource
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, interest and competition to adjust campaigns accordingly
  • Work with Events Management in the Central Marketing Team to plan exhibitions, webinars and key customer workshops/seminars
  • Manage and review all third-party relationships (e.g. PR, web design) to ensure the best results-driven service. Support planning for longer-term marketing capability
  • Build strong relationships with relevant media, trade associations and other stakeholders to achieve a thought-leadership position in target territories
  • Collaboration with other divisional marketing management and central marketing team colleagues across on group-wide projects and initiatives

Requirements: 

  • 4 years minimum in a marketing management role, preferably with experience of B2B, professional services or sustainability service propositions
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent marketing qualification
  • Experience in managing stakeholders at a senior level
  • Ability to be agile and continuously innovate, create new ideas and execute them quickly
  • Strong project management, organizational and communication skills
  • Understanding of sustainability, circular economy and ESG principles is beneficial
  • Commercial understanding and marketing budgeting experience
