Position Summary This position is a hybrid, paid internship for the STERIS Procedural GI business unit located in Mentor, OH. The Marketing Communications Intern will work with the Marketing Communications team to support digital marketing, content development, SEO, and collecting metrics for marketing initiatives. This longer-term internship role provides students with the opportunity to enhance their academic development by gaining real world marketing experience in a healthcare business whose target audiences include physicians, nurses, technicians, and hospital administrators working in the acute and ambulatory care environments. Key Internship Information: Dates: Starting Fall 2024 Semester - potential to extend into Spring 2025 semester Hours: approx. 15-20 hours/week Location: hybrid work out of the Mentor, OH office is highly preferred; will consider remote for the right candidate Duties Support all marketing communication activities for BU. Marketing communications activities to include: product launches, integrated campaigns, trade show messaging, journal advertising, direct marketing, web content, social media, sales support, and Customer collateral and multi-media activity. Liaise with corporate communications as an extension of the SBU marketing staff. Collaborate with eBusiness team and Product Managers to analyze online marketing performance and initiate campaigns supporting key product lines. Research promotional channels and media for maximum performance on spend. Execute on social media strategy by updating the content calendar, coordinating creation of graphics, researching competitive activity and hashtags, identifying trends, and running analytics. Collaborate with Product Managers to publish news updates on internal sales enablement platform. Upload marketing collateral to appropriate internal and external platforms as needed. Coordinate trademark renewals with Product Managers and Legal team. Draft content for various marketing needs including collateral, social, news items, etc. Partner with Product Managers to scope and develop sales collateral and sales promotions. Coordinate print efforts including print vendor relationships, inventory management/reporting and proofing. Manage internal routing process as required for Marketing Communications projects. Analyze market research provided by the marketing group to better understand our Customers' needs and market segment trends, in order to better communicate our key messages. Regularly scan and monitor landscape for market trends to support decision making. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Experience 3+ years of college education in Marketing or Communications and an interest in pursuing a career in Marketing Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications preferred Previous co-op or internship experience desired High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with HubSpot, Google Analytics ClickUp, and Adobe programs is preferred. Basic knowledge and understanding of SEO. Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills Organized and detail oriented. Demonstrated ability to structure and manage a project from start to finish. Exceptional project management skills. Adept at managing high volume, complexity, fluidity and ambiguity while maintaining professional poise and delivering on commitments. Willingness to work in a hybrid environment (in-person and remote) Demonstrated effective use of creative and innovative skills. Self-directed problem solver with proven results. Ability to prioritize work, handles multiple tasks simultaneously, set goals and enforce deadlines while maintaining flexibility to re-assess and re-prioritize.
