About the Company

We are looking for a dedicated UX Researcher to join our growing team focused on transforming the in-store team member experience. This is a highly collaborative and hands-on role, ideal for someone with a passion for human-centered design and a strong interest in applied, corporate research—not academic theory.

About the Role

The ideal candidate is curious, resourceful, and confident conducting in-field research alone. You’ll work closely with our existing UX Researcher, and partner with cross-functional teams to improve digital tools and systems used by store team members—including inventory, ordering, bakery/deli systems, and eventually point-of-sale (POS).

Responsibilities

• Conduct user surveys, in-store observations, and contextual inquiries with store team members (e.g., bakery, deli, inventory).
• Visit pilot stores (primarily in the Grand Rapids area) at least twice per month. Occasional odd-hour visits (e.g., 6 AM for Fresh Inventory or midnight for Period End) may be required.
• Collaborate with the UX Research and Human-Centered Design teams to inform product development and improve the team member experience.
• Help support the development of a unified One App system for team members—consolidating tools like Kronos, Workday, inventory/order systems, and more.
• Provide actionable insights to product teams, especially around inventory processes, Fresh ordering systems, and POS redesigns.
• Advocate for user needs within a fast-paced, product-driven environment.

Qualifications

• A dedicated UX Researcher with 2+ years of experience in applied or corporate environments (not academia).

Required Skills

• Strong in human-centered design practices and experienced in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Comfortable working independently in-store and building rapport with front-line employees.
• Able to handle occasional early morning or late-night research sessions (roughly once a month).
• Culturally aligned with a team that values accountability and on-site presence during key research sessions.
