Job Description

2024 season starts April first and Union Market is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Market Associate. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and success of our market by providing exceptional customer experience and service. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced retail market, gaining experience to various aspects of the business.

Responsibilities

Assist customers, provide product recommendations, and ensure a positive shopping experience
Process transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems
Monitor inventory levels and restock product as it is delivered and requires replenishment.
Maintain a clean and organized market environment by implementing proper sanitation practices
Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain strong vendor relationships
Assist in the setup and breakdown of market displays and promotional events

Requirements

Strong knowledge of fruits and vegetables and our other products we sell
Proven experience in providing exceptional customer service

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to efficiently and accurately operate point-of-sale systems
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
Please note: Reading, writing and the use of basic technology is a key part of our daily operations.
