Job Summary: Provide Engineering technical support. Assist Engineering in process, product, tooling development and maintenance. Supports continuous improvement using Six Sigma tools/skills and by planning/leading and participating in action workouts. Team with Operations and Material Flow to optimize business results including manufacturing cost, inventory, and turn-time reductions. Write and maintain Manufacturing and Quality Control Work Instructions to comply with MTPP policies and customer standards. Interface with Design, Product Support Engineering, and Quality in support of business objectives. Assist in the MRB disposition of nonconforming product and development of Rework tickets. Assist with Completes these and other job duties, as instructed.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Reads, interprets, prepares, and/or revises blueprints; schematics; drawings; CAD models; manufacturing, inspection, and other technical specifications and applies them within manufacturing and quality processes.
- Assesses customer and regulatory requirements for incorporation into work instructions and other manufacturing planning
- Researches tooling design, equipment capabilities, and manufacturing processes to determine a best fit solution for new product development and process improvements.
- Assists with process set-up for new product as well as cost and losses reductions on assigned existing product and processes.
- Analyzes problems with processes and product, provides input for decisions on proper actions to be taken for correction. Executes solutions effectively.
- May prepare and present First Article Inspection reports and any other necessary product or process review and reporting.
- Interacts with customers and suppliers on technical and program matters.
- Manages personal timetables and project status for various and concurrent projects to assure milestones and completion dates are achieved.
- Assists in planning and coordination within the associated manufacturing area. Supports process reviews, revisions, and training on necessary changes within areas of responsibility.
Schedule: We are flexible with student schedules during the hours of 6am-6pm. Interns are expected
to work 15-20 hours per week during school semesters. Full time employment is available during
breaks.
Interns are also eligible to participate in our company 401 (k) plan
Work Environment: - Shared office environment for administrative work.
- Frequent access to manufacturing environment is required to perform duties adequately.
- May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels).
- Safety training and equipment are provided by MPP in accordance with applicable law, industry standards and company policy.
Requirements
- Successful completion of 2 years education in pursuit of engineering degree
- CAD experience or the capability to analyze geometry through the use of CAD programs.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, etc.).
- Ability to read/write/speak English
- US Person Status
- Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen

- Experience in similar industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong interest and desire in manufacturing technologies and materials, specifically aerospace
