Low Voltage Telecom Technician

About the Role :
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Low Voltage Telecom Technician with basic networking experience to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low-voltage wiring systems, including Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A, and fiber. The ideal candidate will have experience with network equipment and VoIP phones, ensuring our clients' connectivity and network needs are met with the highest satisfaction.
Responsibilities :
- Install, configure, and maintain low voltage systems, including structured cabling and related infrastructure components.
- Terminate, test, and label cables to ensure proper functionality.
- Understand and apply basic network concepts; learn about network equipment and VoIP as needed.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to low voltage systems and network connectivity.
- Conduct thorough testing and quality checks to confirm that systems and components are functioning correctly.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, and maintenance activities; generate detailed reports for clients and internal use.
- Communicate effectively with clients, addressing their technical concerns professionally and clearly.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards and local codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with experienced Adamscomm technicians and work independently when required.
- Participate in an on-call rotating schedule every 4 weeks and work after hours if necessary.
Qualifications :
- At least 3 years of experience as a Low Voltage Technician with a background in networking and VoIP.
- Must reside within 1 hour of our office.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, OSHA 10, BICSI).
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Ability to work on ladders and handle on-call duties.
- Proficiency in installing network equipment and VoIP phones.
- Strong problem-solving skills and troubleshooting abilities.
- Self-motivated, confident, and dedicated with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and customer service skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented; experience with ConnectWise PSA is a plus.
