Logistics Specialist

Summary

The Logistics Specialist supports transportation, logistics, and distribution activities across the organization. This role works with internal teams and external partners to coordinate shipments, manage freight data, and ensure efficient logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with third-party providers to obtain quotes for domestic and international transportation.
  • Coordinate and manage parcel, domestic, and international shipments.
  • Schedule and book freight using Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Monitor and manage shipment exceptions to ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct data analysis to support logistics decisions and operational improvements.
  • Assist with transportation coordination requests as needed.
  • File and track freight damage claims with carriers and insurance companies.
  • Monitor freight performance trends and help develop corrective actions.
  • Maintain claim records and ensure accurate database entries.

Experience

  • 3+ years of logistics, transportation, or related industry experience.

Education

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain or a related field preferred.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with warehouse or logistics software.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency.
