The Lead Data Scientist serves as a strategic analytics partner to the organization, acting as an internal consultant to help improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and errors, and drive better decision-making through data. This role focuses on solving complex business problems by applying statistical analysis, data exploration, and clear communication across multiple departments.
Partner with business stakeholders to identify, frame, and solve data-driven business problems
Analyze scenarios such as process optimization, cycle time reduction, and operational efficiency
Extract and query data from relational databases using SQL
Analyze and interpret data using tools such as Python, R, and spreadsheets
Identify trends, patterns, and root causes; evaluate statistical significance and business impact
Create clear and effective data visualizations using business intelligence tools
Collaborate closely with data engineers to validate data sources and implement solutions
Present findings to stakeholders, confirming, refuting, or refining hypotheses
Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations
Adapt analytical approaches as new insights emerge or project requirements evolve
Communicate progress, trade-offs, and changes in scope clearly to non-technical audiences
Strong foundation in statistics, data analysis, and analytical problem-solving
Demonstrated experience owning end-to-end analytical projects, including:
Data extraction
Data analysis
Pattern and trend identification
Statistical validation
Insight delivery to business stakeholders
Advanced proficiency in SQL
Proficiency in at least one analytical programming language (Python or R required)
Experience using data visualization or dashboarding tools
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences
Flexibility and adaptability when analytical approaches or deliverables need to change
Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments
Familiarity with sprint-based workflows, stand-ups, and delivery timelines
Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, product, or operations teams
