We have an immediate position open for a manager of the Land Surveying Department for a growing Civil Engineering firm in Rochester New York. This firm recently acquired another company and the management needs have greatly increased. We are looking for a highly motivated person with attention to detail and interest in a vibrant work environment with a possible partnership within the firm. 

 

Requirements:

 

Licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor in New York or 5 - 10 years of applicable experience in surveying management in residential/commercial development required. Candidate will be expected to be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the survey industry. Experience required completing survey computations using AutoCAD/Carlson as well as a thorough working knowledge of GPS systems. Computer skills involve survey data management using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel. Applicants must have excellent organizational skills, communications skills, the ability to multi-task, and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Work directly with Senior Management
  • Plan, organize and supervise survey crews, technicians and other staff members
  • Scheduling and coordination between other departments and outside companies
  • Initiate and maintain contact with key personnel of organizations and companies
  • Assist in financial management of survey projects including proposal preparation, billing reports, and invoicing
  • Survey boundary analysis and computations of ALTA, topography, utility and title surveys utilizing AutoCAD or Carlson and other industry standard software
  • Construction stakeout services including field setup and quality control of construction stakeout projects
  • Quality control of all survey documents, including survey plans, record plats, descriptions and review of title commitment reports. Includes peer review of other office project team’s deliverables
  • Assist with Client meetings
  • Other duties, as assigned
