Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Assistant to join our team. The Lab Assistant will be responsible for accessioning, receiving packages from clients, and ensuring all necessary materials are included. This role involves entering information into the LIS system (EPIC Beaker), printing draft cases, and assigning and delivering cases to pathologists.
Responsibilities - Receive and accession packages from clients
- Confirm all slides and wax blocks are included in each package
- Enter case details into the LIS system (EPIC Beaker)
- Print draft cases
- Assign and deliver cases to pathologists
- Maintain organization and attention to detail throughout the process
Essential Skills - Sorting
- Filing
- Sample management
- Accessioning
- Data entry
- Experience with LIS systems
- Proficiency with EPIC Beaker
- Specimen processing
- Specimen collection
Additional Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor's degree preferred
- Associate's degree or HS diploma with lab experience
Work Environment The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The lab assistant will have a dedicated workstation but will also need to move around the lab building, including going to slide archives to gather different pieces of cases. The role requires a combination of sitting and moving around the lab.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
