Job Opportunity: Marine and Coastal Conservation Coordinator with the NFWF ECO Posted On January 8, 2020 Summary Working out of Washington, D.C., the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s (NFWF) Marine and Coastal Conservation Coordinator will have programmatic, communications, and administrative responsibilities that support a diverse programmatic portfolio on behalf of the Marine and Coastal Conservation programs at the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF ). This position will work with a large group of leaders from non-profit organizations, Federal agencies and corporations, as well as internal staff at all levels of the organization. The position reports to the Director, Program Operations (Director) and will be assigned responsibilities to multiple programs and work closely with the Director, Marine and Coastal Conservation, program directors and program managers on a variety of programs. This coordinator position will be assigned a diverse portfolio of program coordination responsibilities that will shift based on workload, seasonal needs and other organizational priorities. Responsibilities and work distribution will be set annually by the Director, Program Operations in coordination with the marine team. The position is based in Washington, DC. The Coordinator will assist in advancing a diversified portfolio of grant programs that support primarily species and habitat based conservation programs. S/he prepares materials for the Board, senior management staff, and others, as assigned. S/he is responsible for managing aspects of select grant program(s) and partnerships, as appropriate, and other duties as assigned by the Director, Program Operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Facilitate conference/training calls between grantees, NFWF staff and corporate partner staff to clarify roles and responsibilities. Coordinate event agendas and logistics with involved parties. Respond to regularly occurring requests for information including basic program inquiries and advise applicants on application-related questions. In consultation and coordination with the Communications Department, manage the web content on applicable program landing pages of the NFWF site ensuring information is up-to-date and informative. Monitor active grants/contracts in coordination with the grant administration team and coordinate with Grants Administration staff as assigned. Develop and disseminate materials to assist program advisory committees in reviewing submitted applications and answer inquiries from reviewers, as appropriate, in a timely manner. Work with assigned program leads to prepare and review Board materials, Congressional notification abstracts, reports and other materials, as needed. Assist with aspects of select grant program(s), including preparation of Requests for Proposals, organization of review committees and meetings, coordination with grant applicants and program partners, and other activities directed by the Director, Program Operations. Assist in various programmatic responsibilities, as directed, such as maintenance of funding source spreadsheets, preparation of programmatic proposals and reports, preparation of PowerPoint presentations, internet research on various conservation topics and responding to requests for information from program partners. Prepare and submit programmatic reports to funders by compiling programmatic data and writing report narratives summarizing programmatic activities. Organize and track programmatic reporting deadlines for corporate and federal agency partners. Prepare financial reports with the assistance of financial and program staff, assist in the tracking of program account activity, and perform queries within Foundation financial and project databases (Deltek and EasyGrants) as needed. Maintain confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and other Foundation matters. Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills) Minimum bachelor’s degree; biology, ecology, environmental science or policy major preferred. A minimum of two years relevant experience in grants administration or program management preferred. Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, discretion, tact and diplomacy. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail, proofreading and follow-through skills. Flexibility in a rapidly changing environment. Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software.
