Job SummaryThe Infrastructure Finance and Advisory ('IFA') team has a global mandate to originate, structure and execute infrastructure finance deals in developed and emerging markets. We are a 'product agnostic' team comprised of experts in project finance, bonds, loans and structured products. We assist other product and coverage partners in deals involving infrastructure assets - across loan and bond financing, M&A, equity raises, project finance advisory, derivatives structuring and other products. We engage with both greenfield and brownfield projects across the transportation, energy, power, telecommunications and social infrastructure sectors.We are looking for an experienced banker to be based in New York, who will lead IFA's activities in Latin America, reporting to the global co-head of IFA.Job Responsibilities Work with the broader IFA team and our partners across J.P. Morgan to identify new infrastructure finance and risk management opportunities in Latin America Lead structuring and execution of bank and bond infrastructure financings, including contract negotiation, due diligence and consultant management Lead credit risk and other internal approval processes for loans and counterparty exposures Lead capital structure advisory as a part of M&A or equity mandates Assist colleagues in derivatives marketing in structuring risk management tools for infrastructure projects or companies Develop and execute rating strategies for infrastructure financings Oversee the development of financial models Work with coverage and product bankers to pitch for new engagements and develop client relationshipsRequired Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills Minimum 9 years of project/infrastructure finance experience Experience with infrastructure finance transactions in Latin America required Fluent in Spanish and, preferably, Portuguese, written and oral Expertise in M&A, debt and equity capital markets, structured products and/or derivative transactions Bachelors Degree required, preferably in accounting, finance, economics or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred Existing infrastructure client and investor relationships and knowledge of the infrastructure industry and markets Advanced knowledge of financial modeling and financial products including bank loans, bonds, rates, FX and structured products Strong quantitative and analytical skills Must be a self starter and proactive by taking initiative and anticipating deal team needs Willingness to work hard and be a team player. We work closely with partners in banking, capital markets, credit, and various product groups including FX and Rates, as well as our partners across the control functions An ability to juggle deliverables for long-term transactions as well as a busy day-to-day schedule Personal/Professional Attributes The ideal candidate is a creative, innovative team player. It is critical that the candidate be able to relate well to client counterparts and develop good working relationships with these individuals. It is also important that this person display maturity, good judgment and an ability to work with professionals at all levels inside J.P. Morgan. Strong analytical, technical problem solving, planning and organizational skills are a must. These abilities are necessary on an individual level as this person directs other project members. It is expected that the ED demonstrate leadership qualities that are team-oriented, fostering and collegial. The ability to delegate effectively and pay attention to detail while maintaining a high level of productivity will be important. The ED must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively in presentations; expressing complex financial strategies in an organized and articulate manner. This individual must be dedicated to the Firm's goals and he/she will have uncompromising personal integrity.
