Principal Duties and Responsibilities

St. Bernard Catholic Elementary School, serves students ages pre-Kindergarten to 8th-grade elementary school located in Benson, is currently accepting applications for an efficient and successful Instructional paraprofessional for the 2025-26 school year.

This position requires the teacher to implement lesson plans, follow the general grade level teacher's classroom instruction, and support learning for 20 students. The paraprofessional will create a caring, Christian, and positive learning environment for academic, social-emotional, and spiritual development. The paraprofessional will work alongside the classroom teacher and will provide accommodations to support the student’s growth in the general curriculum and if necessary also work with resource staff to adjust instruction to meet the needs of all students. The teacher will maintain the student’s academic progress and records along with various assessments to document the progress of the student through the year. The paraprofessional will support the teacher to maintain a line of communication between the parents, students, administration, and fellow school staff.

-The paraprofessional will work alongside the teacher will set high classroom expectations in all academic areas and ensure lesson plans align with the Archdiocese curriculum.
-The Instructional paraprofessional will also work with the resource teachers and counselors to ensure every student is learning to the best of their ability.

Education and Experience
A strong desire to support children in grades preKindergarten- third grade to achieve personal progress as defined by our school's mission, vision, motto as well as in alignment to state standards, while collaborating with the general education teacher.
Experience working with children or an associates degree in early childhood is preferred, not required.
Applicant must complete a background check and the Archdiocese of Omaha required Safe Environment training.
Strong in their understanding of and living out their Catholic faith.
