The Bluebird Group is a manufacturer’s representative and consulting firm serving as an invaluable partner to some of the most innovative brands and multinational retailers. We are seeking an Insights Associate to work on our DNA team in our office in Downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

Our office is working in-office hybrid (In-Office: Tuesday - Thursday).

The Insights Associate is a data-driven retail strategist and is a unique blend of a Business Analyst, Category Manager, and Retail Buyer. This role is centered around understanding consumer behavior, identifying trends, optimizing product categories, and leveraging data to drive growth for both retailers and client partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Consumer Behavior Analysis:
    1. Dive deep into data to understand and interpret consumer buying patterns and preferences.
    2. Use quantitative and qualitative methods to gain insights into customer motivations and behaviors.
  2. Trend Identification:
    1. Conduct market research to identify emerging industry and consumer trends.
    2. Stay updated with global and local market dynamics to predict future shifts.
  3. Analyzing Retail Opportunity:
    1. Evaluate the retail landscape to identify gaps and opportunities for growth.
    2. Use data-driven insights to recommend new product introductions or category expansions.
  4. Collaboration:
    1. Work closely with all functional team members of Bluebird – sales, search, insights, etc. to align strategies and actions with key timelines.
    2. Manage KPIs with a cross functional team in order to drive growth.
  5. Data Storytelling:
    1. Transform complex data sets into compelling and easy-to-understand visualizations and narratives.
    2. Present analytical reports such as market research, price comparisons, and category opportunities in a way that drives decision-making.
  6. Building New Process:
    1. Design and implement new processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and deliver of insights
    2. Continuously innovate and refine processes that exist on the team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics or a related field
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in data analytics, retail category management, or buying
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, especially MS Office
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Curious, not afraid to work in the grey or challenge the way things ‘have been done’
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Effective organization skills and the ability to multi-task
