The Industrial Painter contributes to this by preparing and painting factory automation, conveyor, and crane systems, according to project specifications.

****ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES****
* Prepares industrial equipment for painting, ensuring a smooth surface using sandpaper, brushes, steel wool, sanding machines, and solvents
* Applies primer or sealers to prepare paint surface for finishing coats
* Applies enamel paint as specified in project work orders
* Mixes and matches color of paint, stain, or varnish with oil or thinning and drying additives to obtain the desired color and consistency
* Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers or finish coatings.
* Weigh or measure chemicals, coatings, or paints before adding them to machines.
* Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using viscometers.

****EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS****
* High school diploma or GED
* 3+ years relevant experience
* Equivalent combination of education and experience with integrated material handling and/or automation systems
* Forklift certification, preferred
* OSHA 10 hour-General Industry, preferred

* Ability to meet shipping deadlines
* Ability to interact with employees in a professional manner
* Expert knowledge of power tools
* Familiarity to the risk of potential exposure to fumes from painting supplies and other chemicals used throughout production and installation
* Familiarity to the risk of exposure to loud noise
* Proper safety equipment must be worn including:
+ Safety glasses
+ Steel-toed boots
+ Use of a respirator and other safety equipment while painting
* Awareness of potential hazards, such as nearby machinery, while in the shop or at a customer location
* Customer locations may require appropriate safety equipment to be used
