Our client is a boutique corporate business immigration law firm. They are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Immigration Law Paralegal to assist their team.

The Immigration Law Paralegal will be responsible for providing support to our attorneys in all aspects of immigration law matters, including communicating with clients, drafting documents, and organizing and managing case files.

Essential Functions:

· Assisting and supporting immigration attorneys in the preparation of immigration filings, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, E-3, J-1, TN nonimmigrant and EB1, EB2, EB3, NIW immigrant petitions, applications for permanent residence and naturalization, PERM applications, consular processing and family-based filings;

· Communicating with corporate HR representatives regarding fact gathering, document assembly, case preparation and status;

· Liaising with relevant government agencies including USCIS, USDOS and USDOL;

· Analyzing, reviewing and organizing documents and data from clients, and analyzing case details to determine future actions;

· Assisting attorneys in gathering evidence, legal research, preparing supporting documents, preparing evidence and exhibits and complying with procedural requirements and filing deadlines;

· Preparing/coordinating document production and responses to requests for evidence

· Drafting employment and travel letters for review by immigration counsel;

· Demonstrate strategic thinking and initiative with regard to case assignments and identify and resolve delays in process;

· Create new files and update client matter reports;

· Conduct ongoing case tracking and management and maintain case calendar;

· Assist attorneys with preparation of legal memoranda and general background materials regarding topics of interest in immigration law;

· Address client case status inquiries, including processing remaining steps in filing, processing times, and consular appointment issues;

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has experience with a wide range of immigration procedures and processes, has excellent organizational and multitasking skills, and is capable of handling sensitive information with the highest degree of professional responsibility.
• 3+ years of business immigration paralegal experience working with the following case types: F-1 OPT, H-1B, L-1, TN, E-3, J-1, O-1, and employment and marriage based green card processes, including PERM filings.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and MS Office Applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook, required; knowledge of INSZoom preferred.
• Ability to perform basic legal research regarding topics and questions arising under immigration law;
• Ability to manage client relationships for high-volume corporate clients and complex projects under short deadlines
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
