Who we are
Johnson Controls (JCI) builds some of the most popular and recognizable HVAC brands in the industry including York, Coleman, Luxaire, Champion, and Guardian. The JCI facility in Wichita, Kansas produces both split and packaged systems for the residential and light commercial markets. It sits on 63 acres and has about 1.3 million square feet under roof. With a workforce of approximately 1600 employees, JCI is the largest non-aircraft employer in Wichita. Our employees design, manufacture, and distribute around one million pieces of quality HVAC equipment each year.
The Mechanical HVAC Engineering Intern will work in the Residential Indoor Products team that is part of the Unitary Products Group Ducted Systems for JCI. This position will be located in the Wichita, KS plant and will report to the Engineering Manager for Residential Indoor Coils and Air Handlers Products.
What you will do
The preferred candidate will have aspirations to apply / develop mechanical acumen in an environment where both educational understanding and real life practicality are important to design, testing, and development of HVAC equipment. The preferred candidate will be a self-starter and able to use a variety of different engineering tools to succeed at this position. Experience with HVAC systems is a plus.

The preferred candidate will be passionate but consciously maintaining a balanced/humble approach to contributing/developing their understanding, experience, and expertise of concepts at different levels of detail.

Educational path will likely include B.S.M.E., but other education and experience may be applicable.
