Job Summary: As a Hotel Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our hotel property, guests, and staff. This role requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a proactive approach to preventing and addressing security issues.
Key Responsibilities: - Patrol and Monitor: Conduct regular patrols of the hotel premises, including guest floors, public areas, and back-of-house, to ensure safety and security. Monitor security cameras and other surveillance equipment to detect suspicious activity.
- Respond to Incidents: Quickly respond to security alarms, emergency situations, and guest or staff reports of suspicious activities. Provide immediate assistance and support during emergency situations, such as evacuations or medical emergencies.
- Access Control: Manage access to the hotel, ensuring that only authorized persons are allowed entry. Verify the identity of guests and visitors as needed and enforce hotel policies regarding access to guest rooms and restricted areas.
- Report Writing: Document all security-related incidents, including detailed reports of observations, actions taken, and outcomes. Maintain accurate records for future reference and investigation.
- Assist Guests and Staff: Provide assistance to guests and staff as needed, including escorting guests to their rooms, helping with luggage, or providing information about hotel services and local attractions.
- Enforce Policies: Ensure that hotel rules and regulations are followed by guests and staff. Address violations of hotel policies in a professional and respectful manner.
- Collaborate with Law Enforcement: Work closely with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary, including providing assistance during investigations or emergency situations.
- Training and Awareness: Participate in training sessions on security procedures, first aid, and emergency response. Stay informed about potential security risks and best practices for hotel security.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by hotel management, including assisting with crowd control during events or handling lost and found items.
Qualifications: - Experience: Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in security or emergency response is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Basic computer skills for monitoring surveillance systems and writing reports.
- Physical fitness and the ability to patrol the premises for extended periods.
- Availability: Must be available to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
