Description

This position is eligible to telework. Individual approval is subject to Personnel Policy requirements.

This is a temporary job.

SCOPE:

The duties of this position include a wide range of activities including planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring the day-to-day activities in support of the administration of the City of Oklahoma City's HOME program funds and Decampment activities.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Directly responsible to the HCV Compliance Program Manager.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Establishes procedures designed to assure the achievement of program performance standards and schedules.

Develops and maintains effective working relationships with community-based organizations, funders, Case Management staff, and business leaders.

Acts as liaison between OCHA and various social service providers including case management, and Key to Home staff.

Responsible for compliance with all relevant HUD, State, Federal and OCHA rules, including compliance with deadlines and performance schedules.

Analyzes and makes recommendations to improve delivery of services.

Attending regular meetings with community partners.

Knowledge of Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and the National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE).

Develops procedures for tracking and follow-up support for each of the program areas.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to understand, interpret, apply and explain federal and agency policies, regulations, and procedures.

Ability to establish working relationships with community agencies and service providers.

Ability to coordinate program activities with other departments within OCHA as well as community agencies.

Ability to work successfully with socio-economic and ethnically diverse populations.

Ability to effectively perform with constant interruption and time pressures.

Ability to negotiate and resolve problems.

Ability to effectively write letters, reports, procedures, maintain documentation and complete required forms.

Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment, computers and peripherals.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent or a combination of education and work experience.

Appropriate clerical, typing, ten key and computer experience.

Familiarity and experience with basic computer principles and usage. Ability to understand and apply the governing policies and procedures as implemented by management.

Ability to work independently, have a good sense of priorities, and be willing to use initiative.

Ability to positively meet and work with landlords, tenants, the public, and the disadvantaged.

Ability to retain proprietary information as confidential.

Ability to comply with Authority attendance policies.

Valid Oklahoma driver's license

DESIRED:

Previous employment as a counselor, social worker, or other position involving counseling and guidance with moderate and low income families.

PHYSICAL:

Ability to read and write correspondence, read and post ledgers, and work with computerized reports, code books, plans, etc. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others by telephone and in person. All physical requirements are evaluated based on the ability to perform with or without reasonable accommodations under the ADA
