HOME INSPECTOR 

Job Description 

Perform visual property inspections of residential homes and commercial buildings for potential safety issues, deficient components, construction flaws and land grade/slope. 

Requirements 

• Florida State Home Inspector License 

• Associates degree (preferred) and/or related experience (trade related preferred) 

• InterNACHI certification 

• Construction knowledge (a plus) 

• Computer, software, and email proficiency 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills 

• Ability to recognize inspection issues that require immediate attention due to health & safety concerns, and substantial repair expense 

• Ability to provide recommendations and warnings about safety, home habitability, components longevity. 

• Ability to analyze and determine immediate and potential repair expense of items of concern. 

• Ability to climb ladder and steps. 

• Ability to move into, throughout around and exit spaces with eighteen (18) inches or less. 

Responsibilities 

• Complete a comprehensive inspection of property 

• Document & communicate condition of property (verbal /written) 

• Protecting, maintaining, storing & use of company property 

• Maintain customer satisfaction as the driving culture of the company 

• Adhere to Company’s SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) 

• Follow company’s culture (SYNERGY) 

• Proficiency in information analysis and ability to reach a conclusion & effectively communicate via report 

• High level of efficiency and proficiency 

• Ability to use & understand testing equipment 

• Use of a ladder 

Use of Senses & Physical Requirements 

• Stand or walk for prolonged periods of time 

• Speak clearly so listeners can understand 

• Observe details of objects whether they are nearby or far away 

• Understand the speech of another person 

• Identify difference between color, shades, and brightness 

• Hear sounds and differentiate between the differences

• Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm 

• Utilize fingers and hands to grasp, move, or assemble small objects 

• Move two or more limbs together (i.e., two arms, two legs, or one arm, one leg) while remaining in place 

• View objects in very bright or low light 

• Manage quick, precise adjustments to machine controls 

• Move arm and legs quickly 

• React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet 

• Utilize stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for prolonged periods without getting tired. 

• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out 

• Coordinate movement of several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while the body is in motion 

• Maintain or regain the body’s balance or stay upright when in an unstable position. 

• While looking forward, identify objects or movements that are off to the side 

• Determine from which direction a sound came 

• Be physically active for prolonged periods without getting tired or out of breath 

• Choose quickly and correctly among various movements when responding to different signals 

• Ability to work in a hot environment and enter small spaces (i.e., crawl space, 18 " or larger, attics, 3ft or larger etc.) 

• Capability to walk on roof and uneven surfaces
