Founded 18 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, the DV Group of financial services firms has grown to more than 450 people operating throughout North America and in Europe. Since spinning out of a large brokerage firm in 2016, DV Trading has rapidly scaled as an independent proprietary trading firm utilizing its own capital, trading strategies, and risk management methodologies to provide liquidity and hedging opportunities to financial participants, commodity producers and other counterparties worldwide. DV group affiliates also include two broker dealers, an introducing broker in commodities, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and several investment advisory firms.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Prime Brokerage and Special Projects to join our team. This key leadership role will be responsible for establishing and managing our trading relationships with prime brokers, futures commission merchants (FCMs), exchanges, and other trading platforms and counterparties. This person will also oversee relationships with data vendors, front-end trading systems, and all other service providers critical to our trading operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Trading Relationships Management: Maintain existing and establish new relationships with prime brokers, dealers, FCMs, exchanges, and other trading platforms and counterparties to ensure optimal trading conditions and seamless execution of trades.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with data vendors, front-end trading system providers, and all other external partners that support our trading activities.
  • Operational Oversight: Work with the operations team to ensure smooth integration and reporting between all our trading relationships and the firm.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance trading performance, operational efficiency, and market competitiveness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work closely with the compliance team to ensure that all trading operations adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Technology Integration: Liaise with the technology team to integrate and optimize trading systems, data feeds, and other technological tools that support trading activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, FRM) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in trading operations within a brokerage firm, proprietary trading firm, hedge fund, or similar financial institution, a significant portion of which having been spent in a leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of trading markets, including equities, commodities, fixed income, and cryptocurrencies.
  • Proven track record of managing relationships with prime brokers, FCMs, exchanges, and other trading platforms and counterparties.
  • Strong knowledge of trading systems, data vendors, and market infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on operational efficiency and risk management.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance in trading operations is highly desirable.
