The Springdale School District is now accepting applications for the head choir director position (8th and 9th grade) at George Junior High School. The Springdale Choral Program is an internationally recognized program built on a tradition of excellence that involves over 2,300 students in grades 6-12.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The head choir director position will require a dynamic and experienced teacher with exceptional pedagogy, outstanding organizational skills, and a passion for student success. Applicants will be asked to demonstrate teaching techniques, organizational systems, and pacing methodologies that promote the success of all students.


The head choir director will coordinate the direction and management of the overall choral program in collaboration with district middle, junior, and high school choral directors. The primary teaching duties of the head choir director will include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the organization and direction of the junior high choir program
• Oversee the instruction of all choir classes
• Ensure characteristic vocal production, breathing, sight reading, hand signs, and posture
• Coordinate choral staff and schedules
• Coordinate all performances and assessments
• Coordinate and manage program budget and fundraising
• Manage inventory (music and equipment)
• Coordinate recruiting and the voicing identification process
• Coordinate communications and publicity
• Ensure compliance with all district and state requirements
• Engage, plan, and team with middle school, junior high, and high school choral directors to align programs
• Assist the middle school and high school programs
• Other duties as assigned
