Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is a 9 hospital system part of Highmark Health, committed to inclusive growth and educational opportunities. Allegheny Valley Hospital is a 188 bed community, union hospital serving Natrona Heights. They are considering RN graduates for all areas of their teams, allowing nursing graduates to start with a Graduate Nurse Temporary Practice Permit (GN TPP) or Registered Nurse (RN) license. All Graduate Nurses are enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program (NRP) in addition to nursing orientation, supporting them through their first year. Units include MedSurg, Acute Rehab, ICU, PCU, Behavioral Health, and Emergency Department. The role provides direct nursing care according to established policies and standards. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process for patient care plans, initiating interdisciplinary care plans, completing patient documentation, contributing to hospital goals, providing patient and family teaching, supporting development of students and staff, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a Temporary Practice Permit, CPR certification (American Heart Association), and required background clearances (Act 34, Act 33, Act 73). The job adheres to ethical, legal, and privacy standards including HIPAA compliance and company policies.
