POSITION PURPOSE:
Serves the company as the 121 General Manager. Direct supervisor of Heavy Check Line Supervisors, Lead Technicians, all direct and contract maintenance technicians to include administrative personnel working at the heavy maintenance facility. Coordinates activities with: VPM, DQ/CI, DOM, DO, Director of Safety, CASS Analyst, Heavy Check Line Supervisor, Lead Technicians, Lead Planner, Manager of Maintenance Training, ICM and Parts Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  1. Serve as liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration Certificate Management Office on issues pertaining to the 145 Repair Station.
  2. Manage a staff of operational and administrative direct reports.
  3. Lead and direct the proper application of company policies and procedures, maintenance procedures, and applicable FAA regulations.
  4. Coordinate aircraft induction schedules, shop schedules prior to and during the performance of all repair station functions.
  5. Participate with, train, and lead the team to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair any discrepancies related to the aircraft in accordance with approved technical data.
  6. Assist, supervise, and direct all aircraft maintenance personnel in the performance of their duties so that work is accomplished on schedule and in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and repair station procedures.
  7. Train maintenance personnel in the proper work practices and procedures, including observation of safety precautions during the performance of their duties.
  8. Monitor the maintenance induction schedule footprint to assure that maximum productivity is achieved in the most cost-effective manner.
  9. Complete vendor audit requests and maintain records of each vendor audit completed.
  10. Be responsible for maintaining records in accordance with part 145; and will ensure each work package is properly audited for accuracy and regulatory requirements.
  11. Liaison with all clients providing quotes, keep clients updated through the inspection process and ensure quality assurance satisfaction at delivery.
  12. Maintain a positive relationship with the FAA and clients as appropriate.
  13. Responsible for the timely repair, maintenance and cleanliness of facilities, equipment and company assets.
  14. Ensure that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work before it is approved for return to service.
  15. Ensure that any maintenance performed for FAR 121, 125, 129 or 135 air carriers under a Continuous Airworthiness Program is accomplished in accordance with that air carrier’s manual.
  16. Ensure that all regulations are followed as they relate to Contract Maintenance.
  17. Ensure that proper entries are made into the aircraft maintenance logs and work order.
  18. Responsible for ensuring aircraft technicians working on aircraft perform work as outlined utilizing proper guidance.
  19. Responsible for ensuring documentation is legible and complete for all work performed on aircraft or related equipment.
  20. Promote safety throughout the organization as mandated through Company policies.
  21. Responsible to ensure work area clean, safe, and in an orderly manner.
  22. Responsible to ensure the proper overhaul, maintenance, and repair of airframe components, power-plant, aircraft communication, navigation equipment, and associated components.
  23. Provide technical data and input to the CASS and SMS Programs.
  24. Ensure each mechanic and employee assigned completes their timecard in accordance with company requirements.
  25. Ensure company uniforms are worn as assigned.
  26. Responsible for enforcing the policies and procedures outlined in the MAC CAMP and Manual system.
  27. Ensure employees are adequately trained to perform the work assigned.
  28. Responsible for the continuous improvement of their training and mechanical knowledge regarding their work assignments.
  29. Perform and oversee inventory audits, correction of FAA and Auditor findings.
  30. Ensure safety, reliability, and economy by anticipating equipment problems and developing capable employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. Must possess an FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate and meet the requirements of 14 CFR 65.83.
  2. At least 5 years maintenance experience in Part 121, 135 or Part 145 operations to include a minimum of 3 years in director or above management level roles.
  3. At least 5 years of budgetary experience overseeing assets, personnel, equipment, and facilities.
  4. Must have 3 years of accountable manager type experience with ops specs authority.
  5. Must have a strong knowledge of FAA regulations, as it pertains to Parts 43, 65, 91, 135, 121, and 145.
  6. Must have a clear understanding of typical Part 135 maintenance manuals and possess strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work nights and weekends and have a flexible travel schedule. Must have open-minded flexibility and excellent communication skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Direct supervisor of Heavy Check Line Supervisors, Lead Technicians, all direct and contract maintenance technicians to include administrative personnel working at the heavy maintenance facility.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
ATR Fam Course, Airworthiness Release Authorization, Receiving Inspection, General Safety, Quality System Awareness.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Work typically performed in an office environment. However, due to work requirements, may require frequent travel/work in the heavy maintenance facility will involve exposure to noise, chemicals, adverse temperatures and other similar hazards.
