From our humble beginning Bloomex grew to become an international business with 40 locations in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Our main line of business is e-commerce and omni channel retail in gifting and specialty retail.

All our companies are private under one family ownership.

We are looking for business minded senior legal professional to help us to manage cost efficiently our legal needs. We foresee that current level of work will warrant 1-2 full days of work. The position is in our office on east end of Ottawa ( Hawthorne and Walkley area). There is no possibilities for remote or hybrid job.

Responsibilities:

• to help navigate and manage current and future lawsuits
• reevaluate, re-introduce and manage proper contract structure to purchasing, employment and production fulfillment
• manage legal aspects of all M&A activities
• be involved in M&A and business development
• support and control compliance in regulated company businesses
• provide strategic legal advice to company ownership and senior management

Requirements:

• practical legal experience in one of the countries we operate
• QC or/and ON license
• business focused thinking and approach
• experience in business, employment and contract law
• good communication skills with ability to express thoughts in short words and clearly
• vast professional network connections
• experience as a general counsel is an asset but not required

The position is in person in our Ottawa office.

Relocation is possible.
