Education, Licenses, Registrations Requirements:
  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid Drivers License and clean driving record.
  • Must be at least eighteen years (18) of age.


Experience: Previous carpet or tile installation experience is preferred but not required.


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting maps and following GPS directions and navigation equipment.
  • Proficient in using a smartphone to navigate the ClockShark time reporting notes application.
  • Strong customer service and first-hand dealings with clients in the field.
  • Strong pre-planning and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, flexibility, decision-making, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks and duties by adhering to strict schedule deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-starter, the ability to function with minimal supervision, and the ability to hand a busy work environment.
  • The ability to work well with others and address situations as they arise in a professional and diplomatic manner.


Supervisory Responsibility:

This position is accountable to the Journeyman/Lead, Installation Manager, Project Coordinator and ultimately to the President of CCI, LLC

Work Environment:

The Flooring Apprentice/Installer will be exposed to outside varying temperatures and weather conditions, hot, cold, wet, and humid with exposure to moderate to very loud noise and shall work in the yard, warehouse, but mostly in a field environment depending on the required daily activities. The Apprentice/Installer must adhere to all safety protocols at all times including Covid-19 protocols.

Physical Demands:

The Flooring Apprentice/Installer must have a full range of bodily motion such as standing, sitting, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, typing, grasping, climbing, and descending stairs and trucks constantly and the ability to carry 50 or more pounds and assisted safe lifting of larger items, using the appropriate lifts and equipment.

Mental:

This position requires analytical reasoning. Must have the ability to calmly and professionally reason and deal with problems involving simple and concrete variables. Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, other contractors, CCI leadership, and co-workers.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. The schedule is determined by the assigned projects. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required as position duties demand and the client's needs dictate.

Travel:

This position will require travel within CCI, LLC service area which includes Indiana, and occasional out-of-state travel for work and/or training.
