Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Fleet Manager in Los Angeles CA ! The Fleet Manager will be responsible for support to the service shop including but not limited to vehicle fueling, local transportation of tractors and trailers, and cleaning. The Fleet Manager is responsible for leading a team of Technicians and Mechanics in an aggressive quality preventative maintenance repair program, including the maintenance of medium, and Heavy-Duty vehicles to ensure a safe and efficient fleet. *All Fleet Manager careers require Mechanic experience matching Fleet vehicle units. *Must have similar Fleet Repair/Mechanic experience with Heavy-Duty Vehicles. Region includes: San Diego CA, Los Angeles CA, San Fernando CA, Garden Grove CA and San Bernardino CA for our NAS Segment.

Compensation: Paid weekly, every Friday! Salary range - up to $90k with additional bonus opportunities

Shift : Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead, educate, and develop employees
  • Managing technicians 
  • Monitor employee’s performance and be accessible to all areas of the shop
  • Oversee multiple shop operations
  • Plan daily manpower to meet workload
  • Provide support to the operations team regarding all equipment-related issues
  • Monitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies
  • Perform administrative functions; including payroll approval, scanner downloads, repair order maintenance, and compliance documentation
  • Address all corrective action regarding direct reports
  • Provide clean, safe working conditions for the facility and equipment
  • Communicate with client to ensure operation's and company's needs are met
  • Identify and monitor equipment sent to outside sources for repairs
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Interview and hire for shop positions
Key Competencies and Minimum Education
  • Must possess at least 5 years' industry experience in fleet maintenance or operations capacity and 5-8 years of direct management experience.
  • Prior technician/mechanic experience Heavy Duty Tractors and Trailers Repairs for DOT Inspection
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CMV operation above 10K requiring medical certification
  • Ideal location Los Angeles CA
  • Contract dependent: May require familiarity with Light/Medium-Duty repair and maintenance
  • Contract dependent: May require experience with refrigerated cargo units
  • Must be able to travel as needed; overseeing multiple shop locations as assigned
  • Thorough knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills prepare examples to discuss your experience with Retention, Training Skill Gap, Employment Law, Hiring and Coaching
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
