Job Description

FDY, Inc is seeking a Controller to oversee the financial operations of the company. This position will be responsible for providing leadership, direction and collaboration on all financial aspects of the company. The ideal candidate will bring a strong knowledge of general principles in accounting, financial planning and financial reporting. Knowledge of federal, state and local taxes is a big plus.

Summary of Duties

The Controller is responsible for leading the financial operations of FDY. The responsibilities will include the following:

• Oversee and lead the accounting team of the company including payroll, accounts payable, cash management and accounts receivable
• Manage the banking relationship of the company
• Prepare monthly financials results of the company in a timely manner
• Direct and prepare financial analysis of operations for guidance by management
• Prepare audits for contractual obligations and taxing authorities as required
• Manage the system of checks and balances required to ensure compliance with GAAP standards
• Direct the activities concerned with the safekeeping, control and accounting of assets
• Research and prepare pro forma for new business as needed
• Assist the Company President and Owner in developing financial plans for the company with providing best practices for the company's finances and provide strategic plans to improve the company's stability
• Prepare the annual budget for the company in collaboration with both the operational management team and company ownership
• Develop and implement a weekly flash report of key financial indicators for use by all levels of management with the goal of producing an automated weekly P&L using the company's accounting software (Restaurant 365).
• Monitoring cash flow
• Work with CPA firms that prepare company taxes and required audits
• Collaborate with contracted CPA firms that prepare company compilation and taxes
• Collaborate with the management team on optimizing technology solutions
• Assist in the contractual agreement between all vendors

Educational Experience

• Four-year college degree with a major in business, accounting or restaurant/hospitality management. Prefer MBA degree or Masters in Accounting. CPA certification is a plus
• Three or more years' experience in hospitality or restaurant management
