Albany State University is a fully accredited senior unit of the University System of Georgia. Job SummaryThe Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) demonstrates commitment to the University's mission and the student population by assisting students In reaching optimal academic success through wellness, episodic assessment, diagnostics and treatment
The FNP provides episodic care to enrolled students experiencing minor illnesses, sprains and strains. These services may Include assessment and treatment and /or follow-up and referrals. There is no overnight stay; however, minimum confinement for observation If symptoms indicate. The nursing staff provides health maintenance assistance to students with chronic health problems via medical referral to regional health care providers. The FNP also provides health promotion activities through workshops, health fairs, blood drives, classroom lectures, dorm presentations and community collaboratives.
