The WMU Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a board certified or board eligible Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our experienced and collaborative team.
Responsibilities:This position will have inpatient and outpatient responsibilities in the area of pediatric orthopaedics service line. There will be opportunities to further refine and expand our Pediatric Orthopaedic service line, develop acute care coverage for the pediatric patient, improve the multidisciplinary outpatient clinic services for patients with neuromuscular diseases and syndromes, optimize our scoliosis care pathway, and further relationships with the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. There are teaching opportunities in both medical student and resident education. Furthermore, there are resources to support both basic science and clinical research. WMed Health is the clinical practice of the medical school with more than 300 providers offering comprehensive primary care and specialty services in several locations throughout Kalamazoo, Portage, and Battle Creek. The Department of Pathology faculty serve as the Office of the Medical Examiner for counties throughout Michigan and northern Indiana.
The W.E. Upjohn M.D. Campus located in downtown Kalamazoo serves as the primary educational facility with faculty and administrative offices, student study and social spaces, team-based learning halls, a state-of-the-art Simulation Center accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, basic science research labs, as well as toxicology and forensic pathology labs.
