The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects tutors with students nationwide for online Expository Writing tutoring. You’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—all from home. Responsibilities Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to individual students. Accept on-demand tutoring requests (Instant Tutoring) when you’re available. Tutor remotely using the Live Learning Platform; no commuting required. Get matched with students aligned to your teaching style and expertise. What We Look For In a Tutor Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style. Expertise in Expository Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly. Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles. Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience, and graduate-level education. Compensation and Perks Base contract rates start at $18/hour and may increase for specialized subjects; pay can rise with the same student up to $40/hour. Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions conducted and invoiced. Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like. Remote tutoring on the purpose-built platform with no commuting. AI-powered Tutor Copilot provides real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time. We handle logistics—you invoice for sessions and we manage payments.
