Position Overview

We are a national wholesale insurance broker for the transportation industry, leading the way in commercial trucking and workers' compensation programs. Founded in 1943, we are a family-owned independent Managing General Agent licensed in 34 states. Due to our continued growth, we are in need of an Associate Underwriter for our team. The Associate Underwriter is an entry level position that will support the underwriting team in evaluating insurance applications and determining appropriate coverage and pricing for clients. You do not need to have insurance experience, but it is a plus. If you're interested in starting an insurance career this is a great opportunity to do so. 

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing insurance applications and assessing risk levels.
• Evaluate and analyze data to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
• Collaborate with senior underwriters to develop underwriting guidelines and procedures.
• Communicate with agents and clients to gather necessary information for underwriting decisions.
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting activities and decisions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulations affecting underwriting practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in the insurance industry is a plus but not required. 
• Willingness to obtain a Property and Casualty License
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
