Job Description

The Engineering Operations Intern will assist with assigned projects and tasks under the direct supervision of a full-time engineer. These projects and tasks will include a variety of research, engineering, technical and analysis functions related to the firm’s development and operation of biogas facilities.

Responsibilities

• Work on assigned tasks related to the development and operations of facilities designed to take raw biogas from dairy manure into pipeline quality natural gas.
• Assist in preparing database on natural gas commodity costs at different physical indices across the country
• Track, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for biogas operations
• Research and compile data on commodity and utility costs, grants and fleet operating costs.
• Research and compile data on emission calculations for various transportation fuels. Relate these figures to government incentives, credits or grants as needed.
• Deliver work products, including white papers and presentations based on research.
• Assist Real Estate Manager with utility and other site feasibility analysis as needed.
• Other engineering, research or analytical tasks as assigned over the course of the internship.

Qualifications

• Working on a bachelor's and/or master's degree in engineering or relevant scientific area. (Preferably electrical, industrial, chemical)
• Must have excellent communications skills, and be able to use basic computer software - Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, etc. Experience with GIS systems and analytics is a plus.
• Must have an aptitude for solving problems independently and an interest in alternative and renewable energy.
