We’re seeking an experienced Director of SEO to lead our SEO team, manage client relationships, and drive scalable, ROI-focused strategies. Role Overview: As the Director of SEO, you’ll be responsible for growing the search presence for all clients, across all channels from Google and Bing to ChatGPT and other LLMs. You’ll manage our SEO team, oversee strategy development and execution across all clients, and ensure the delivery of measurable growth in a complex and ever-changing search landscape. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical expertise, client communication, and team management. Key Responsibilities: Lead SEO Strategy & Execution Define the search marketing vision and roadmap for all LGE clients, from large enterprise sites to nimble startups and small distributors. Translate client business goals into actionable SEO strategies, covering technical SEO, content, and on-page optimization. Oversee the implementation of SEO best practices across clients, collaborating with development teams and third-party vendors as needed. Drive Technical Excellence Continuously refine LGE’s seo processes, including regular audits, on-the-fly troubleshooting, architecture optimization, and performance improvement suggestions. Metrics Definition and Reporting Define KPIs and performance metrics that align with client goals. Develop and oversee SEO reporting dashboards (using our reporting tool, Agency Analytics) to track traffic, engagement, lead generation, and revenue impact. Communicate results and strategy updates clearly in client meetings and stakeholder presentations. Team Leadership & Mentoring Manage and mentor SEO Strategists, helping them grow their skills and deliver exceptional client results, with an eye on team growth. Foster a collaborative, learning-focused environment—sharing knowledge, hosting SEO workshops, and developing process documentation. Oversee workload prioritization and ensure all projects are delivered on time and at a high standard. Client Communication & Alignment Build strong, consultative relationships with clients, serving as the SEO subject matter expert in cross-functional strategy sessions. Present technical findings in clear, strategic terms that resonate with business leaders. Help clients connect SEO performance to real business outcomes—leads, revenue, and growth. Continuous Innovation Given the ever-changing search landscape, stay ahead of not only search engine algorithm changes, but also emerging strategies for LLM presence and other search-relevant venues like Reddit and Quora. Experiment with new technologies, automation, and data-driven approaches to improve efficiency and outcomes. Requirements: 3-5 years SEO experience, including ideally in a leadership role, managing strategy for large/complex websites, ideally in an agency environment. Ability to lead and inspire a team, balancing hands-on technical work with strategic oversight. Deep expertise in technical SEO Strong analytical skills—comfortable working with large datasets, building traffic forecasts and metrics reports in collaboration with leadership and client services teams. Confident presenting SEO strategies and results to C-suite stakeholders and clients—translating complex concepts into clear, actionable insights. Familiarity with basic web development concepts and best practices for technical SEO implementation.
