POSITION SUMMARY:

Purpose: To assist and act as functional clerk of Shipping & Receiving Department. To perform manual (up to 10%) and clerical (90%) work in the daily operations in shipping and processing.

Scope: Responsible to assisting in shipping and receiving, preparing all necessary documents, must acquire familiarity with the various types of merchandise and materials and the clerical/administrative work associated with distribution center/warehouse environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Required: Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be able to us Microsoft Office, WMS systems and ERP systems (Priya and AR).
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times. Assist customers in will-call area as required.
  • Takes daily direction from the Shipping and Receiving Supervisors and Group Leader.
  • Answer phones, emails and assist associates, as necessary.
  • Process individual assignments for Pickers.
  • Complete own assignments on time.
  • Maintain Records of Imports-Inbound Containers (logs-discrepancies-releases time, etc…)
  • Assist Accounts Payable-Inventory-Loss Prevention to resolve errors or other system anomalies.
  • Processes daily shipping and receiving orders, closing transfer/home delivery supplies and filing appropriate documentation.
  • Provide detailed and accurate information to our product management/sales team regarding product availability.
  • Requires the ability to perform all primary job tasks at an accuracy level of 99% or higher.
  • Order operational supplies for your area.
  • Report discrepancies immediately to the Supervisor-Purchases-Vendors-Carriers and follow procedures at all times.
  • Other related duties maybe assigned.

DUTIES:

Typical: This position exists within shipping and receiving departments of the LAC Distribution Center. Merchandise ordered by the system (AR) and processed and shipped by WMS (PRIYA); prepared, staged and delivered to the proper department, retail stores or for home delivery.

  • The Shipping and Receiving Clerk must be very detailed oriented and extremely accurate as mistakes could result in waste in effort to correct or prove very costly to remedy in terms of cost of product lost, etc…

SUPERVISION:

Received: Direct supervision DC Supervisor/Duty Supervisor or higher DC/Operations Group management

Given: To assigned departmental associates in course of daily tasking and in accordance with Supervisors direction or oversight.

EQUIPMENT:

Required: Use of desktop computer systems both ERP (AR) and WMS (Priya) systems and handheld scanning guns.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Usual: The working environment is a DC/warehouse without air condition and with a cement floor where nearly 100% of the day is spent. Temperatures vary from approximately 40 degrees in the winter to 100 degrees plus in the summer. There is an air-conditioned administrative area in the warehouse for office and technical workspaces. Position involves potentially going in and out of the air-conditioned space into the warehouse throughout the day.

Special: Some exposure though minimal to weather and physical hazards which are normal for a DC/warehouse environment. In the process of moving boxes and packages from one location to another, the associate must lift, bend, stoop, climb and pull. This position requires working at heights in order to store items in storage racks. Individuals in this job will be on their feet approximately 10% of each day.

Usual: The associate is required to work most of the time seating.

Special: Manual dexterity for accurate and expeditious data entry.

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum of one year experience as clerk.

Language Skills

  • Fluent Spanish and English – oral and written.

Computer Skills
  • Knowledge in Excel, word.

· Math Skills that allow the candidate to be able to perform accurately functions such as add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, percentages and decimals.

· Must be extremely detailed oriented and work independently.
