Job Description

Job Description

We are looking for a sharp, culturally fluent Copywriter to join the team creating social content and campaigns for on-trend and community-driven brands.

In this role, you’ll concept content and write compelling, on-brand copy that speaks authentically to passionate and diverse audiences. You’ll help develop social-first ideas that are bold, reactive, smart, culturally resonant and occasionally weird—in the best way. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to produce highly engaging content that breaks through the noise while staying true to the community-first ethos of the brands.

This is an exciting opportunity to write for social brands where pop culture and internet culture intersect and where the audiences notice everything.

This position is located in Los Angeles. Local candidates only, no relocation provided.

Responsibilities

  • Create breakthrough social concepts and copy that resonate with niche, social-first audiences
  • Stay fluent in pop culture, internet culture, meme trends, creator communities, and platform norms to ensure content feels native to each brand and relevant to its audience
  • Partner with the creative team and strategists to develop integrated, social-first campaigns for clients marketing initiatives
  • Contribute to brainstorms, trendspotting, and idea generation for ongoing campaign work and real-time reactive content
  • Understand each client’s community values, brand voice, and competitive landscape to inform authentic, channel-specific copy
  • Write and edit long-form and short-form content, headlines, post copy, taglines, scripts, and social-specific executions
  • Apply platform knowledge (Twitter/X, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Discord, etc.) to tailor messaging and format effectively
  • Bring fresh perspective to each assignment while staying consistent with the creative direction and client goals
  • Present work confidently to internal teams and client stakeholders
  • Revise work based on feedback with a collaborative, open-minded attitude

Requirements

  • Qualifications include:
    • 2-4 years of copywriting experience with a focus on lifestyle, community-focused and/or internet-native brands
    • A strong creative portfolio with a heavy emphasis on social-first work that demonstrates both conceptual thinking and copy craft
    • Genuine passion for entertainment, culture, creators, streaming, and digital communities
    • Deep understanding of social platform norms, meme culture, Gen Z, social trends, gaming vernacular
    • Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work well within creative teams
    • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
    • A natural curiosity about emerging trends, tech, and online behavior
    • Highly responsible, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-moving environment
    • Strong time management and attention to detail

  • Essential functions include:
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
    • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, reactive creative environment
    • Punctual, accountable, and deadline-driven
    • Meets productivity and performance standards set by space150
    • Availability during core business hours with flexibility for time-sensitive posts or feedback cycles

At space150, we are committed to pay transparency and equity in accordance with applicable laws. The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $90,000 annually. The salary range for this role is based on numerous factors including experience, skills, and qualifications.
