Job Description
The CM shall perform construction management, engineering consulting, and master planning services related to real property in support of the Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs (SLC VA) Engineering Service on the SLC VA Medical Center campus and possible sporadic functions for the Clinical Based Outreach Center (CBOC) facilities that are under SLC VA jurisdiction; varying in type and magnitude including but not limited to commercial building construction, office and shop buildings, utility installation, and patient care facilities.
Requirements
Qualifications include minimum 7 years total of design/construction project management and/or construction management.
The personnel must be competent to perform in an engineering advisory support role to perform such tasks as review of Request for Information (RFIs) for projects, review of submittals for projects, act in an advisory role and in document preparation for environmental compliance aspects involved in engineering operations/projects on the SLC VA campus, and schematics including re-configurations limited to those that do not warrant design from licensed design professionals.
The CM shall possess the skills and abilities to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing and experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and in briefing applicable Government personnel. The contractor shall have knowledge of construction scheduling methods, construction budget monitoring and control, and of building and construction crafts since they are required to verify that construction and maintenance work is performed in accordance with project plans and specifications and according to industry standards of workmanship.
The CMC shall have sufficient analytical skills and knowledge of construction contracting to assist with construction requests for equitable adjustment and claims support. The personnel assigned to the station and anyone from CMC who will have a need to enter a construction site will have an OSHA 30 Construction Safety Training card that shows proof of training completed within no more than a year from the date the CMC contract is issued.
