Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Lender to join our team. You will work under the guidance of senior lending professionals to build and maintain client relationships, analyze financial information, and develop customized loan solutions. Key Responsibilities:

Loan Origination and Processing:

  • Assist clients in identifying financing needs, including operating loans, equipment loans, and real estate loans.
  • Gather, analyze, and review financial data, credit reports, and other relevant documentation for loan applications.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, banking regulations, and lending standards.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective clients within the agricultural sector.
  • Provide personalized service and financial solutions to meet clients’ unique business needs.
  • Actively participate in community events to establish the bank's presence in the local community.

Risk Assessment:

  • Assist in evaluating clients’ repayment ability and collateral value by analyzing cash flow, balance sheets, and market conditions.
  • Monitor loan performance, ensuring timely payments and adherence to loan terms.
  • Collaborate with senior lenders to mitigate risk and recommend appropriate solutions for underperforming loans.

Market Research and Networking:

  • Stay updated on market trends, direct pricing, and local practices.
  • Network with industry professionals & local communities.

Training and Development:

  • Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance knowledge of commercial lending, credit policies, and financial analysis.
  • Shadow senior lenders to gain hands-on experience in structuring complex loan agreements and managing client portfolios.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field. Equivalent experience in commercial banking or farming may also be considered.

  • Experience:
  • 0–2 years of experience in banking, lending, or finance. Experience in customer service or working in the commercial industry is a plus.

  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with clients.
  • Basic understanding of banking and financial principles.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and assess creditworthiness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with financial software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with banking regulations and lending compliance.
  • Prior experience working with community banks or credit unions.
