CNC Lathe Machinist – Full-Time | 1st Shift

📍 Loves Park, IL | 🕒 Monday–Friday |

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team. This is a great opportunity to work in a small, family-owned job shop where your skills are valued, and your contributions make a real impact.

Job Summary

As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating Okuma CNC lathes with Fanuc controls to produce precision components. You’ll read blueprints, load programs, make offsets, and perform in-process inspections to ensure quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes using Fanuc controls
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
• Load programs, make offsets, and perform minor edits at the machine
• Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools
• Monitor machine operations and make real-time adjustments
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CNC lathe setup and operation experience
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code
• Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
• Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools
• Experience in a job shop environment preferred
• High mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $25.00/hr.
