Overview: Join a compassionate healthcare team providing essential patient care in a medical telemetry behavioral health setting during night shifts. This role involves assisting patients with daily activities, observing and reporting changes in condition, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and equipment.
- Provide direct patient care or communicate patient needs to appropriate staff.
- Support nursing care plans by performing delegated tasks.
- Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
- Maintain stocked and clean patient areas.
- Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
- Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
- Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.
Education and Certifications: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Experience and Skills: - No prior experience required; training provided.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work under supervision within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility with work tasks and schedules.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to work variable shifts, including nights.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and patient turning.
- Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions.
- Exposure to blood and body fluids with appropriate precautions.
