Job Description

Summary: Provide essential patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting during night shifts. Assist with patient admissions, orientation, and support nursing care plans by performing delegated tasks. Maintain a clean, well-stocked environment and ensure patient safety through proper equipment use.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with direct care needs or communicate those needs to appropriate staff.
• Support nursing plans by carrying out assigned patient care duties.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in the patient care area.
• Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
• Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
• Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
• Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.

Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Nursing Assistant certification mandatory. Current registration with the relevant state nursing assistant registry.

Experience: No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.

Skills and Abilities: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing tasks. Basic computer proficiency and understanding of age-specific patient care considerations. Ability to lift and turn patients, with physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

Licenses and Certifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association and valid Nursing Assistant certification.
