Description of GeneralResponsibilities Thepurpose of this full-time position is to support the research activities of theNIH-funded project by working closely with the Project Coordinator and 1-3other Research Assistants. The Research Assistant will be required to undergoin-house training and be familiar with the study protocol. The primaryresponsibilities of this position are to assist the Project Coordinator withthe research activities that take place both virtually and in person atmultiple locations (e.g., VCU Health clinic and surrounding area). Theseactivities include, but are not limited to:
- Consenting participants and collecting data during pre-operative consultations between surgeons and patients
- Setting up video- and audio-recording equipment
- Conducting interviews with patients
- Video and transcript editing
- Logging daily research activities
- Participating in research team meetings
Qualifications Required Qualifications - Flexible schedule including weekends (work hours vary daily based on participant availability)
- Access to reliable transportation
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work productively in highly diverse and collaborative environments
- Demonstrated record of dependability and reliability
- Demonstrated record of working with individuals from diverse demographic backgrounds
- Working knowledge of computer programs and systems, especially Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Working knowledge of virtual meetings platforms, such as Zoom and MyChart/Epic
Preferred Qualifications - Some training in Psychology, Public Health, Health Services, or closely related fields
- Experience working in a healthcare environment
- Service orientation, commitment to excellence and professional growth
